Three types of sitting

Home visits. A sitter comes to your place for feeding, fresh water, tidying, and some company — a good fit when you're out for a few hours and your pet is more comfortable on its own turf, which is common in Athens apartments where a cat or small dog has its own routine indoors.

Day sitting. Your pet spends a longer stretch under a sitter's supervision, with feeding, play, and care matched to its habits.

Overnight care. For longer absences, a sitter takes on full-time care — at your place or theirs, depending on what you've chosen.

How a booking actually plays out

You send the request and see which sitters nearby express interest. That doesn't mean someone's already been picked — you decide, after looking at profiles, experience, and reviews (which go through moderation before they're published, so they're not showing up unchecked). Before you book, you can message the sitter in-app about diet, medication, or anything else they should know — and they don't see your exact address until the booking is confirmed.

If a sitter already has another booking around the same time, that doesn't automatically mean they're unavailable — they can take on overlapping bookings if they can genuinely handle both, so it's worth asking rather than assuming.

What gets checked before approval

Every sitter profile is reviewed before it appears in the app — a photo that clearly shows the sitter's face, no logos or promotional material, and enough detail in the description that you get a real sense of who they are before reaching out. Approval typically takes around 2 working days, sometimes a bit more. Sitters who receive payments also go through separate identity verification via Stripe.

What pets it covers

Beyond dogs and cats, you can find a sitter for rabbits, guinea pigs, or birds, depending on each sitter's experience and availability in your area.
